My latest endeavor, crafting a logo that encapsulates the essence of my departed father and the vibrant spirit of my homeland, Panama, has been a heartfelt journey of self-expression. The butterfly, with its transformative journey from humble caterpillar to ethereal winged beauty, symbolizes the everlasting presence of my father in my life. It mirrors the metamorphosis of grief into a kaleidoscope of memories and the enduring connection between the earthly and the ethereal.

The butterfly's lower wing delicately cradles Panama's silhouette, an homage to my roots and the indelible mark my country has left on my soul. Like the hues of a sunset, colors play a pivotal role in conveying the depth of emotions embedded in this logo. The verdant greens symbolize the tranquility and serenity of acceptance, offering a peaceful haven for reflection. The regal purples evoke a sense of nobility, representing the enduring legacy of my father's wisdom and guidance.

Meanwhile, the soft pinks embody the love that transcends time and space, embracing both my father's memory and Panama's warmth. Together, the amalgamation of these colors and symbols creates a visual tapestry that speaks not only of loss but also of resilience, growth, and the eternal connection between a soul and its roots. In crafting this logo, I hope to share a piece of my heart and pay homage to the beauty that arises when love, memories, and identity intertwine.

    Artist Statement:     For this assignment, I had to include myself in my favorite movie, pirates of the Caribbean. I had to dress up as a pirate, including many layers of clothes, jewelry, and accessories. For the picture, I positioned myself in front of a big window because they had a lot of natural light in this scene. I positioned myself next to Captain Jacksparrow because he is my favorite character. I modified his hand using the puppet warp as if he were hugging me as we passed through this river. I tried to make myself look like I was in the water with them. I place the branches on top of me to make it more natural and blend in with the picture. Also, I included my tag brush as a tattoo on my chest, like a pirate. And I modified the hue saturation and curves to make my picture blend in more.
